Bishop Anthony Lobo has made a unique contribution
to the course of education in the country.
After a distinguished academic career at the Universities of Karachi,
Harvard and Paris he decided to devote his entire life to improve
the quality of education in Pakistan. At a very young age he was
appointed the Principal of St. Lawrence’s Boys School, Karachi
and later took charge of one of the oldest and most prestigious
schools in Karachi "St. Patricks High School". And in
November 1986 founded St. Michael's Convent School.
He is the author of many books including learned work in education.
In recognition of his meritorious services to the cause of literature
and education , the President of Pakistan conferred "The President’s
“Pride of Performance " Award in 1990.
The Bishop has been appointed the " Bishop of Rawalpindi -Islamabad"
due to which he currently resides in Rawalpindi , and visits St.
Michael's Convent School quite frequently.
The Bishop has also served under the following positions:
• Chairman, Education Commission Of Pakistan.
• Secretary General, Catholic Bishop Conference Of Pakistan.
• Chairman, Office Of Education, Federation Of Asian
Bishop's Conference.
• Member Of Senate, Sindh University , Khairpur.
• Member Of Senate, Shah Abdul Latif University , Jamshoro. |
