Usman Beg
Batch 2009-10
13 years in this institution, not only getting academic education but also learning how to behave in daily life. I come to an end with my O’ levels with a splendid result, being exceptional and extraordinary. The school has been amazing at helping us choose our
goals and guiding us for our career. Teachers have put in their best and have helped us make the best of who we are. St. Michael’s is truly unique in its way of teaching. I’ve not only learned from books but I also learned ethics and manners of how to conduct daily my daily life with the help of our teachers and lectures from your chief coordinator about
every morning. They were worth being listened to and those who don’t realize it now,
will do when they graduate from this school.
My result has been fantastic for me. Although I wasn’t able to score an A grade in all my subjects, I’m satisfied with it and I thank Allah for it. The only subject which got me back was the one I ran for tuitions which I had to since it was an extra subject I was appearing for. I’ve realized that I personally can never study from tuitions. I have never taken them for any subject apart from the ones I appeared for as extra. I concentrated in class and even the times when I missed out lectures due to other activities or my own ignorance (which I did regret) I caught up with it at home. I tried focusing in class and I did my best
at it. Of course I’m not Mr. Prefect and I did get into troubles at times but this didn’t dishearten me. I continued working hard and I tried not to make any mistakes and like our chief coordinator advises us, learned from the ones I made.
All my school life I’ve tried to be regular and punctual to school. Yes, I have missed out
on a couple of days but it was not on purpose. This helped me in staying to date with my work and prevented me from missing any classes. I also respect my teachers no matter what happens. To get respect you give respect.
This school has given me more than I expected and I’m really grateful to it for supporting me on my setbacks and helping me achieve my target. I rose to my teachers’
expectations and Masha’Allah got a 100% in Additional Mathematics. I’ve had been pressurized a lot in this regard for peers who always expected high form me and framed
me in mockery when I couldn’t. I’ve realized that this is not good for anyone. Do your
best and let not peers hurt you this way. It’s your parents that matter to you the most. Don’t hide things from them. They’ll love you even after whatever you do. Be truthful to them and work hard. Don’t let their hopes down and don’t waste your time and their money.
People ask me how I study or what I do at home. Well, for them I can just say that how I study and what I do cannot be done by any other. Everyone has their own way of learning. You may study for two hours to complete a topic while it may take more for someone else. But whichever way you study, study as required, more but not less. This way you will not fall behind and revising a day’s work at home can be really helpful when learning for final examinations. Try not to stay up late to study. I’ve tried it and the only thing you get is a worsened health. Sleep early, get up early, study in daylight. Don’t
force yourself on anything. What you like doing, do that. It’ll be helpful in your studies. Choose your career and make choices.
I would finally like to wish good luck to everyone who is in this school and for those who may come later. Make the best of your time here. Make your school, yourself and your nation proud. =)
