Like every year, this year too, with the blessings of the God,
Saint Michael’s Convent School celebrated the birth of our
beloved Prophet by holding the Annual Seerat Conference. To be selected
to participate in the Annual Seerat Conference perhaps might not
be a big deal for some people, but students who actually auditioned
for it now appreciate the importance of being selected on the basis
of their voice amid numerous sweet, pleasant and wholly pure and
think it as a huge accomplishment. Even students who annually take
part in it had qualms regarding their selection.
When I was selected, I was over the moon. I was ecstatic, overjoyed
and unbelievably happy. I had (of course along with the other participants)
immense fun during the milad practices which were held on alternative
days, during the break. Mumbling about it, while secretly being
excited, we used to punctually arrive at the fixed time in the meeting
room for the practice. It seemed that time ceased to move. The day
of milad wasn’t approaching any nearer!! Finally the most
anticipated day arrived! The Seerat Conference was supposed to commence
at 4:30 sharp and end at 6:30 pm. The seating arrangement for the
parents i.e. spectators was appreciated by every one. Throughout
the event, the participants seemed to be a really excited and proud
to show all their hard work in their performances. This prestigious
event started with the recitation of Quran and ended with the Dua
recited in a melodious voice. In conclusion, I would like to say
with a spurt of smugness that indeed S.M.C.S is an influential and
prominent school in this society and worth being famous by the way
it has demonstrated that it not excels academically but also encourages
the students to be involved religiously too.

Milad is an occasion of exuberance and liveliness of spirit. We
celebrate this to commemorate the birth of our beloved Prophet Hazrat
Mohammad (P.B.U.H).
Just like every year St. Michael's Convent School organised a Seerat
Conference on Saturday 6th March 2010. The most talented and enthusiastic
students from various levels participated. Rehearsals for the event
commenced two weeks in advance. It was a great honour for students
to be a part of such a grand event. Our teachers were very supportive
and helpful to make us understand significance of tha Naat that
we had to recite.
A day before the Seerat Conference we all gathered for a final rehearsal.
Many groups of boys and girls from Primary Section till A-Levels
were present showing the same zeal and zest to take part in the
Milad. After practising it on Stage once we felt a lot more confident
for our performance.
Finally the next day of Milad arrived and all the participants were
ready at 4:00 pm dressed in white. Girls also wore colourful duppatas
and bangles. Mothers of the participants seemed equally excited
when they were told to be seated at 4:15 pm. Sweet was distributed
as "Tabarruk".
The event began at 4:30 pm with the name of Almighty ALLAH and Naeem
Haroon of Class XI recited a few verses from Surah-Al-Rehman. Soon
after that a cute little boy from Upper Nursery recited Hamd which
was followed by a solo Naat by another student from the Primary
Section. This occasion became a source of inner peace when one after
another students recited Naats in groups. A speech was made by Wafa
Manzoor of XI-C on the topic “Children are Reflection of their
Parents".
Salaam and Dua in the end made us emotional and we felt that the
purpose of arranging the Milad was fulfilled. Finally the Deputy
Principal addressed all parents there emphasizing on the importance
of Islamic values and parenting.
The worth of Milad holds itself very strong and being a participant
of such an event is recommended a high status. I am lucky that I
got an opportunity to be a part of it.
